Fearlessly invested every penny of our hard-earned savings to buy our first home in Canada. While my dad had to stay back initially for work and tie up financial obligations in Taiwan, my mom took on the responsibility of shouldering the mortgage payments solo. Let's just say the 12% interest rates back in '97 were no joke! 😅

To ensure both financial stability and never compromising on the care I needed as a 3-year-old girl, my mom ingeniously seized an opportunity. She transformed our humble abode into a haven for travelers, diving headfirst into the world of short-term rentals. Our rooms were always filled with guests, and on fully booked out nights, we even slept in the living room. Talk about a memorable experience! 🏡✨ Throughout it all, we cherished our togetherness and hold fond memories of the resourcefulness that defined those days.
